New MySQL® Video Course Online
As of January 22, 2008, we now have our first fully online course. Last year, we created a course on how to use Moodle®, a content managent system for creating learning systems (classroom, lessons, quizes, etc...).
We have decided that all our future courses will be offered online via subscriptions to our Moodle® system. When we eventually phase everything over, this means no more CD/ROMs to ship, and no more lengthy FTP downloads.
Our first course to be present on Moodle (on this website) is MySQL®. We did a complete course of 33 videos, over 5 hours of runtime. Complete details are available here: Learn MySQL.
For the MySQL® course, we use the Joomla database as an example. We have found that more and more Joomla content creators want to get deeper into how their websites work, and they are concerned about backups. Our MySQL® meets this need, as well as explaining the basics (and beyond) of how to build SQL querie and updates. All the examples are done on the Joomla 1.5 RC4 (release candidate) database. In this course, you will see how changes to the database can effect or change the online Joomla presentation.

Over the last 27 years of working with computers
and marketing, I have learned a lot, and decided
to start sharing. I created my first foreign language
product about 10 years ago, and have been selling it
on the web since almost the time the web began.

Who is this site for?
1) People have an interest in a particular video subject.
Perhaps you got here by searching for "Moodle Training"
or "IIS Videos". We have the videos that can help you!
2) People new to marketing. I got a call from a
gentleman the other day who was looking to get more
leads and traffic to his existing website. After the call,
it made me think about how I can help him, and
people like him most effectively. Since I'm
a full time consultant, the best way for me to help
is via on-going improvements and materials on this website.
I plan to add more how-to marketing videos, and then supply
references to other good courses to help you
continue your education. My videos are currently
ad-hoc, meaning you watch whatever interests you.
In the future, I may formalize the materials into
a more logical course.
If you want to learn more about marketing,
building leads, generating traffic, and selling products
on the web, then check out this web page that I am just starting:

Kiosk Videos - May 28, 2007
Kiosk.Ws is a new type of web hosting company for serious web hosters. It was created by marketers for marketers. I just signed-up to roll out some of my new sites that I will be creating this summer.
You can use the service yourself, and also resell it. You can also sign-up and try it for just $1.00.
See the videos at the left (Kiosk Videos and CPANEL Demo).
If you are marketing online, stay tuned for a major product announcement on June 5th, 2007. For one week only, the doors will open on a major new marketing software package that you can use to build your websites. It's basically a CMS (Content Management System) created by marketers and for marketers).
Since this system is aimed at marketers, it includes dozens of sample "Squeeze Pages" (lead capture systems), includes "Fantastico" that easily installs CMS systems, sample codes for pop-ups, pop-unders, delayed-popups, rotating banners, "tell-a-friend" code, URL Rotator, and much more.
The system includes a complete "auto-responder" which allows you to follow-up with your business prospects.
It also includes "QuickSite2Go" a simple CMS system for the very beginner.
I will be making more videos specifically on these features very soon!

IIS and DotProject Videos Added (April 23, 2007)
Added seven new videos on IIS (Microsoft's Internet Information Server - web server) and one video introduction to DotProject. Please use menu on the left to select these new videos. Also added the next 3 videos in the PHP (Bottom-Up) series on learning the basics of PHP.
I've been using IIS for years, and realized that the knowledge that I take for granted could be extremely useful to "newbies". So I made some really quick videos to show the basics of setting up websites on IIS.
The two big web servers in use are:
1) IIS - Microsoft Product (usually IIS6 running on Windows 2000 or 2003)
2) Apache (open source)
Web servers are what drives the internet, delivering HTML and pictures to your browsers.
When you go to a web hosting company today, the general default (because it is the less expensive solution) seems to be Linux running Apache, often with CPANEL installed.
PHP can be run both IIS and Apache. (I'll try to elaborate more on this in the future.) We often think of IIS running ASP and ASP.NET and Apache running PERL and PHP, because these are the most popular combinations.
